This week's quotation about public speaking

There are three things to aim at in public speaking: first, to get into your subject, then to get your subject into yourself, and lastly, to get your subject into the heart of your audience

Irene Brennick just published a book all about your third statement, “get your subject into the heart of your audience”.
She recommends that you do it by “making it personal” and by understanding that you won’t clearly know your audience, until you are in front of them — so be prepared to be flexible!
Here’s a little about that book:
Most books on public speaking are either unwieldy textbooks, how-to books that focus on a single aspect of speaking, or books that target business professionals. Bring Your Audience to Their Feet shows a broad range of readers a new way to view public speaking, gain confidence, and further their careers – while connecting with an audience in a meaningful, unique way.
As Irene says, “Why just speak when you can change the world?”
